“Geelong’s friendly stamp collecting community for beginners and experienced collectors alike.”

Stamp collecting, also known as philately, is the hobby of collecting and studying postage stamps and related postal items such as envelopes, postmarks, postcards and labels.
Some people enjoy the history and stories behind the stamps, as they often reflect important events, famous people, culture, wildlife and places from around the world. Others like the challenge of building a complete set, researching rare items, or organising and displaying their collection.
Collections can be focused in many different ways; by country, theme (such as animals, ships or sport), time period, postmarks, or postal history. Some collectors enjoy stamps simply as colourful miniature artworks, while others study them in great detail.
Stamp collecting can be enjoyed at any level, from a relaxing pastime to a serious research hobby, and it’s something people of all ages can enjoy at their own pace.
We meet twice a month, at two different venues, each with a slightly different focus. See our meetings page for more information.
Full details of what’s happening at each meeting can be found on our Calendar page.
Both venues offer plenty of parking and are fully accessible for people with disabilities.
At every meeting you’ll find sales sheets and social time to enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits. Across the year we also offer:
Mini Auctions at most meetings. Major Auctions two or three times a year.
Four Competitions - 1 page, 2 page, 6 page and 15 page competitions over 12 months.
There are members displays at most meetings throughout the year.
Members are invited to bring items of a non-philatelic nature to a meeting.
A Philatelic Quiz is held each year.
Two dinners each year with the Geelong Numismatic Society.
